While the stars parade the red carpet at the Berlinale, the innovative solutions from Rohde & Schwarz DVS GmbH are working behind the scenes at the festival to ensure the workflows are efficient and the quality of the moving images is faultless. As official supplier to the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival (February 7 to 17, 2013), the Hanover-based company is providing technical equipment in the form of three CLIPSTER® DI workstations and one SpycerBox Flex, DVS’s flexible storage solution.

Right on time for NAB 2012, DVS will present the latest member of its renowned video board family: CinePlay is not only optimized to work with JPEG2000 compressed material but also handles uncompressed data. CinePlay has been specially designed for customers who want to develop a cinema player that will play out material as specified by the DCI.

DVS will be presenting its latest products at booth SL6815. The leading manufacturer of hardware and software solutions again stresses its philosophy of openness and high-availability by further strengthening its systems’ flexibility.

When Picture Head, a world-class Hollywood-based post production facility, decided to broaden its service portfolio to include stereoscopic work and DCI Mastering, they were tasked with finding the most efficient solution to enable these workflows within their existing infrastructure. The result of their search was the DVS Fuze: a powerful and robust solution, which processes 3D content just as easily as 2D material, and creates and encodes DCPs at lightning speed.

DVS's multi-channel video server – has supported the Avid® ISIS® shared storage and Interplay® PAM (Production Asset Management) systems, thereby underlining DVS's continued commitment to openness in its products. Users benefit from seamless production processes and thereby from incredible workflow efficiency.

From September 9 - 13, IBC visitors to booth 7.E25 will discover how they can increase the integrity and stability of their workflows further still by using DVS storage systems. Both the SpycerBox and the DVS-SAN are highly flexible and integrate seamlessly into any storage environment. The SpycerBox will impress users with its incredible capabilities. Thanks to their versatility and performance, DVS storage solutions are perfect for the post production market and – due to their outstanding IOPS rates – particularly for the broadcast arena.

Three DI workstations CLIPSTER from DVS are now enriching the workflows at Nordisk Film ShortCut, a subsidiary of the renowned film company Nordisk Film. After the first two CLIPSTER systems perfectly complemented the infrastructure in Copenhagen, Nordisk has also been using a third DI workstation in Oslo since the beginning of the year, paving the way for digital cinema in Norway. At the same time, Nordisk ensures its workflows are future-proof by using CLIPSTER.

DVS will be presenting its multi-channel VENICE video server with an upgraded feature set at its booth SL3305. Launched two years ago, VENICE has successfully positioned itself as a future-proof solution for ingest and play-out in real-time, and it can be integrated effortlessly into any existing environment thanks to its open system structure. The video server supports a variety of compressed formats and can exchange material with all the latest NLE systems including Avid Media Composer and Apple Final Cut Pro®.

At DVS's booth SL3305, NAB visitors will discover how CLIPSTER can optimize their workflows. DVS will be showing the new features that CLIPSTER offers including extended mezzanine workflow support for IMF and MXF AS-02. The newly integrated batchlist function allows quick and automated processing of DCI/IMF and other deliverables. Plus, thanks to automatic 3D correction, stereoscopic material can be edited at maximum speed. CLIPSTER® also facilitates convenient processing of RAW material from the ARRI ALEXA camera, enabling subsequent control of camera parameters during post production.

At this year's NAB, DVS will be holding a product premiere for the post production and high-end presentation market at its booth SL3305: The Atomix HDMI video board will complement DVS's existing product line and expand its range of functions. Equipped with four HDMI ports, the Atomix HDMI board fulfills even the highest demands of modern image editing.
